Advertising broadside for John Overy, silk dyer and scowerer of Philadelphia. The printed address has been blacked out and a new address given in manuscript. The verso contains manuscript insertions recording tafetta and other items Overy received. John Overy is listed on p. 140 of Stephens's Philadelphia directory, for 1796 at 51 Pine Street. The 1797 directory lists Overy at South Street as noted on the broadside.

SILK DYER and SCOWERER,
Removed to South Street [blacked out 8 characters] Between 3d and 4th Street

CLEANS and DYES all Sorts of Silks, Sattins, &c. Flowered Brocades Cleaned or Dyed,
and every Colour preserved. Muslin, Cotton, or Linen Gowns, Cleaned and Glazed,
or Dyed any Colour. Likewise Cleans and Dyes all Sorts of Silks, Cotton or Worsted
Bed Furniture. All Sorts of Manchester-stripe and Furniture Cleaned, or the Stripe
Dyed Blue or Green, and the White preserved as when new. Counterpanes, Blankets,
and Quilts Cleaned. Ribbons, Tiffany and Gauze Cleaned or Dyed to look like new.
Turkey and all other Kinds of Carpets Cleaned on the shortest Notice. Paint or Grease
Spots taken out of any Coloured Silk, without injuring the Colour. Gentlemen's
Cloaths Wet or Dry Scowered or Dyed any Colour. Fancy Waistcoats Cleaned
without injuring the Colour.

Linen and Cotton Bed Furniture, and Ladies Dresses of all Kinds, Cleaned
and Glazed on a new Construction without taken to pieces.

N.B. GLOVES made out of SILK STOCKINGS, and SILK STOCKINGS
